This project involved the removal, relocation, and upgrade of electrical switchboards and distribution systems to meet hazardous area requirements, improve reliability, and ensure compliance with Australian standards.



This project involved the removal, relocation, and upgrade of electrical switchboards and distribution systems to meet hazardous area requirements, improve reliability, and ensure compliance with Australian standards.

Scope of Works

  • Switchboard Removal & Decommissioning
    Safe removal of existing electrical switchboards to enable site rezoning. 

  • Custom Switchboard Design & Manufacturing
    Supply of a purpose-built electrical switchboard engineered for hazardous area integration.

  • New Switchboard Installation
    Installation and commissioning at the new designated location. 

  • 800A Mains Supply Relocation
    Relocation and reconnection of the 800 amp mains supply from  Plant MCC to the new switchboard.

  • Distribution Board Relocations

  • Lighting & Power Circuit Migration
    Transfer of all required circuits from DB's to the new system. 

  • Electrical Protection Upgrades
    Installation of: 

    • New MCCBs (Moulded Case Circuit Breakers)

    • Approx. 18 x RCBOs for final sub-circuit protection

  • Cable Rerouting & Underfloor Services
    Optimised rerouting of circuits, utilising underfloor cable pathways where possible.

Project Outcome

The project delivered a compliant hazardous area electrical system, improving power distribution, circuit protection, and operational safety. Tazlec ensured minimal downtime, efficient integration with existing infrastructure, and a future-ready switchboard solution.
